St. Leonard's
Finding Freedom
For ten years, I taught a poetry class at a halfway house in Chicago. After collecting hundreds of poems, I had an idea and sent a handwritten letter to internationally acclaimed photographer Sandro inviting him to partner with me to make a coffee table book featuring the handwritten poetry and portraits of the residents. Two days later he called me and said he was all in.
"Finding Freedom" is the culmination of our year and half project together. All proceeds from sales for the book went to the organization.
