On my first day of my internship at DDB Chicago in 2007, the lead recruiter told me I would be joining the Bud Light team just in time to be in the mix for a Super Bowl commercial. It was the tail end of the golden age of that historic agency and rather than celebrating the chance of a lifetime, I told her I was Mormon and didn't want to work on an alcohol account. She looked at me masking her disbelief with a smile.

Fast forward to a decade and a half later and here I am having taken a hiatus from advertising to co-produce and direct EntheoMagus, a 40-minute documentary exploring the psychedelic origins of Mormonism and their direct ties to the 1960s Harvard Psychedelic Renaissance. 

 

This is in addition to me being the host of the podcast "Roughly Stoned," a more in-depth exploration of the same subject matter as the documentary. P.S. Just to be clear, I do not believe psychedelics are the answer to everything. Nor are they an answer for everyone. But I do believe they offer insight that, with appropriate integration, can accelerate fulfillment of intent. And when I discovered the research indicating the visionary experiences of early Mormonism were likely associated with psychedelic use, I had to tell the story.
